Immortal Great White Sharks

I just heard on the radio that scientists can now accurately tell the age of great white sharks. It seems they are able to tell by rings in the tail tissue. Apparently now we can focus in on the levels of radio activity from the bombs set off in the fifties and sixties. Right away I'm thinking what if its the radioactivity that has changed them making, them live longer now? My story mind is intrigued by the thought of an immortal great white shark. Recent findinds show that some can live up to their seventies.....I mean I know about godzilla's orgin story, I see parallels.
