Word count, for the different types of fiction

I was curious, so I looked up some figures on word counts.

Flash Fiction= 1000 words or less

Short Story= less than 7500 words (contemporary usage no longer than 20k)

Novelette= 7500 to 17,499 words

Novella= 17,5000 to 40,000 words

Novel= 50,000 and up

    That's interesting. I need to get out of the habit of looking at my word counts evertime I complete a page. Lol
