I have been writing almost every day. I am still writing my first novel which will be in the epic fantasy genre. The working title is Angsutar
I have probably written about the first five chapters so far. I have spent a lot of time on world building and outlining. The story as planned so far, will run about 46 chapters. I am just trying to make it through a first manuscript, so that I can get into the the revision process and re-writes.
I know my ending from my outline, so at least I can see where I am going with the story.
I wish that I could get more done on weekends. During the week I do about 1k words per morning and all I can think is how great it will be when the weekend gets here and when it does I do the normal 1k words or less.
I would like to hit the 120k word count for my first attempt, so hopefully sometime before November 2010, I will have the first manuscript done. I think I will continue to blog about my progress. If nothing else, to serve as a journal for my thoughts on the story and the writing process.
With this story I am concentrating on 2-3 protagonist. Part of the story will be in 1st person and the other parts will be in 3rd person. The world is unique, as is the magic system. (at least I like to think so). It is at times like this, that I wish that I had read more novels in the fantasy genre. It would be nice to know if my ideas, and the world building is actually something new, or something that has been done a million and one times.
Hopefully, as we get closer to November, I can start putting up some of the beginning chapters, of at least first revision stuff for posterity's sake.
Thats all for now.
